Filing a Colorado hail claim, step by step

From the first phone call to the supplement, a plain-English walkthrough of the comprehensive claim process.

Open the claim first, choose the shop second

Hail is covered under comprehensive, not collision, so it does not count as an at-fault accident. Call your carrier or open the claim in their app and write down your claim number.

You are never required to use a carrier-recommended shop. Colorado law gives you the right to pick your own repair facility.

The inspection and the first assessment

The adjuster photographs the vehicle and writes an initial assessment. Early assessments are almost always low, because adjusters work in daylight without a reading board.

Bring that assessment to us. We re-map the damage under proper lighting and compare panel by panel.

The supplement

When we find damage the first assessment missed, we file a supplement with photos and dent counts. Carriers approve supplements routinely — it is a normal part of the process, not a dispute.

You pay your deductible, the carrier pays the rest, and we handle the paperwork in between.
